Senior Marketing Manager - Loyalty Product
More about the role
The Senior Product Manager owns the end-to-end Morrisons Loyalty Tech stack – the More Card app, the Offer Engine and its underlying data foundations, and the broader marketing technology ecosystem (including Eagle Eye, Salesforce and Ecrebo).
The role sets and delivers the product strategy and roadmap for this stack, leads key partner relationships to maximise value from existing investment, and ensures the tech team is briefed, prioritised and held to account for delivering customer journeys and campaigns that bring the More Card proposition to life. The role reports to the Head of Loyalty and leads one Product Manager, with accountability for a £2m+ capex budget and £10m+ of overhead/opex spend.
Accountabilities:
Customer
- Identify and resolve short-term friction in the app experience, using customer feedback, app store reviews and behavioural data to prioritise fixes
- Work closely with the Data team to build a Single Customer View (SCV), enabling targeted, personalised and measurable offers at scale.
- Prioritise the tech team's work in line with commercial impact, customer experience and strategic priorities.
- Brief clear customer journeys and requirements into the tech team, ensuring user stories and acceptance criteria are well defined.
Colleague
- Leads and develops one direct report (Product Manager), setting objectives, coaching delivery and supporting career development.
- Works closely with the Head of Loyalty and wider More Card team on proposition, partnerships and personalisation initiatives.
- Partners closely with the Tech and Data teams as primary product owner for the loyalty technology roadmap.
- Manages external partner relationships (Eagle Eye, Salesforce, Ecrebo and others) at a senior, commercial level.
- Provides visibility of loyalty tech strategy, roadmap and performance to senior stakeholders as required.
Operational
- Develop and own the 3-year product strategy and roadmap for the More Card app, aligned to the wider loyalty proposition and business objectives..
- Bring the More Card proposition to life in-app – translating the loyalty strategy into tangible, personalised and useful features for members.
- Lead personalisation of the app experience, working with the data and offer engine teams to ensure content, offers and messaging are relevant to each member.
- Develop new member-facing services such as scan-as-you-shop and shopping lists, defining requirements, prioritising the roadmap and stewarding delivery through the tech team.
- Own app store optimisation (ASO) – ratings, reviews, listing content and conversion – to drive discovery, downloads and retention.
- Lead the RFP process for the Offer Engine, defining business, technical and data requirements and evaluating vendors against them.
- Define success measures and a phased implementation plan, balancing quick wins against the longer-term platform build.
- Work with the Tech team to map out a 3-year marketing technology plan, defining the target architecture and sequencing of investment.
- Identify opportunities to better integrate existing partners and platforms to unlock maximum value and reduce duplication or manual workarounds.
- Stand over delivery – tracking progress, unblocking issues and ensuring what is shipped matches what was briefed and meets quality expectations.
Sales, Profit and Cash
- Owns a capex budget of £2m+, covering platform, integration and development investment across the loyalty tech stack.
- Owns overhead/opex budget of £10m+, covering partner licence, service and support costs (including Eagle Eye, Salesforce and Ecrebo).
- Accountable for demonstrating return on technology investment and identifying efficiencies across the partner estate
More about you
Knowledge
- Customer-centric mindset, with genuine curiosity about member experience and behaviour.
- Analytically minded, comfortable using data to prioritise and to measure the impact of product and journey changes.
- Deep understanding of the UK grocery retail market
- In depth knowledge of the planning process
- Strong commercial awareness & knowledge of retail
- Strong understanding of the marketing, sales promotions, direct marketing, data within a multi-site environment including maintaining key external and internal relationships
Skills
- Strong product and commercial judgement – able to translate strategy into a prioritised, deliverable roadmap.
- Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable briefing and challenging technology partners and internal tech teams.
- Clear, structured communicator, able to brief requirements precisely and stand over delivery to a high bar.
Experience
- Proven product management experience, ideally covering app products, martech/adtech platforms or loyalty/CRM technology.
- Experience running vendor selection processes (RFP/RFI) and managing strategic technology partner relationships.
- Experience working with data teams on customer data, personalisation or Single Customer View / CDP-type initiatives.
- Track record of leading cross-functional delivery with technology teams in an agile or hybrid delivery environment.
- People management experience, or clear readiness to lead and develop a direct report.

Online Assessment (Customer Assistant roles)
After your application, we might send you an e-mail and ask you to complete an online assessment. This is typically a situation judgement test where we'll ask you ten questions with mutliple choice answers and takes around 10-15 minutes to complete. The questions will give you a feel for the types of scenarios you might encounter working in our stores - think customer first.

Our interviews are typically face to face but can sometimes be virtual. Don't worry, we'll advise either way. Your interview can differ depending on the role or team. Part of the interview may include some competency questions against our Ways of Working (listed below).

Final Stage
With some of our roles there might be a second interveiw. This tends to be for roles in our Head Office and some salaried positions across our stores and sites. As part of this second stage, we might ask you to complete a task, such as a SWOT analysis or something similar, and present it back during the interview. This helps us understand your approach and thinking about the role.
