We've got a fantastic opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the Engineering team at our Cutler Heights Produce site, West Yorkshire. Reporting to the Engineering Team Manager, you will work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.

Cutler Heights is Morrisons first produce site which opened in 1976. We now produce over 100 million packs per year of stone fruit, citrus, top fruit, salad and clean veg. Supplying to over 130 stores and employing over 450 colleagues at site. Following recent investment of £1.5 million we now have a state of the art 'grapes' centre of excellence with the capacity to produce 43 million packs per year with Mondini heat sealers.

Cutler Heights Engineering, is a key provider of engineering excellence support to the produce division of Morrisons Manufacturing. The site has gone under an exciting period of change and is expanding the department to provide structural support as part of our site asset care programme. Here at Morrisons our Multi Skilled Engineers do the following;

  • Work collaboratively within the Engineering team.
  • Support in investigating means of improving plant productivity.
  • Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available.
  • Investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns and damages.
  • Action any necessary repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised.
  • Be involved in both electrical and mechanical reactive and pro-active maintenance.
  • Be proactive in ensuring good health and safety on site.

What do I need to be a successful Multi Skilled Engineer?

  • You will be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical Engineering, BTEC level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering).
  • Ideally, IEE qualification up to 17th edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault finding role gained from within a FMCG environment (Ideally Food Industry).
  • Have a good understanding of HACCP principles.
  • Previous experience programming PLC is beneficial however not essential.
  • You will also possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate assertiveness and decision making skills and have a can do attitude to your work.
