We've got a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Manager - Production (PORK) to join the team at our meat processing (Abattoir) in Colne. Reporting to the Department Manager, you will lead your team to successfully deliver your lines KPI's and drive business performance.

Woodhead Brothers (Abattoir) was re-developed in 2013/4 covering 180,000 sq ft on 9 acres of land. They have 840 colleagues and run a 5 day operation. They supply Morrisons' stores and Farmer's Boy with raw materials to produce a full range of butchery products including materials for sausage, pies and cooked meats. It is one of the largest meat processing facilities in Europe.

Here at Morrisons our Team Managers do the following;

  • Coach, develop and lead teams & establish a continuous improvement culture.
  • Plan & prioritise work & ensuring maximum use of resources.
  • Control levels and accuracy of waste & waste recording including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and potential efficiency; accuracy & waste recording; downtime; product weights; staff efficiency.
  • Continuously identify ways to reduce costs & improve standards & efficiency in all areas.
  • Achieve the production plan on time and in full and ensure on time in full vehicle departures.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating high standards of behaviour, honesty & integrity - develop & support people through coaching and feedback.

?What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful Team Manager?

  • Management experience gained in a fast paced manufacturing/ production.
  • Proven experience in a people management role with the ability to deliver strong results through a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solves, report information/findings, develop recommendations, and implement process changes in order to improve operational performance.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills in order to engage motivate and develop large teams with varying skill sets.
  • The ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation and cross-functional teams through the application of effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
